GitHub is a source-code hosting platform with version control by the use of Git. In other words, GitHub is a totally online platform where you can create repositories and host in them your projects, collaborate with open source softwares, follow other programmers and interact with third party codes. GitHub stores all of this data in the cloud, and you can access it wherever you are: all you need is to login on the website in any browser.
